Closing the uterine arteries with a tourniquet

In operations such as myomectomy to be performed in the uterus, temporarily stopping the blood coming from the uterine arteries both shortens the surgery time and significantly reduces the patient’s blood loss. If a tourniquet (elastic ligature) will be used for this, the area where it will be placed may be close to the ureter. Therefore, it should be placed by sight. For this, a window is opened in a safe area under the round ligament. Also, it would be better to push the bladder downwards from the area where the tourniquet will pass.
